Tools of the Trade

July 3, 2014 By SLAY Architecture

render2As architects, it’s important to be up to date on the latest methods in architectural production. From the initial concepts, which can be as low-tech as a pencil and paper, to 3D renders and virtual camera flyovers of prospective designs, Architects use many tools to achieve the results. Many of these tools can require a lot of expertise that can only come from years of education, application and experience so that they are effectively used to achieve their intended purposes.

SLAY Architecture uses advanced tools such as 3DS Studio Max Software to create renders for our clients to gain better insight to how a structure will shape up as the firm creates concepts for client review. This helps pin-point possible issues before the structure goes under construction and it also helps produce more effective and efficient designs. Factors such as lighting and weather models can be considered for optimum efficiency in heating and cooling. Visual representations can be implemented in client marketing collateral to gain support for proposed projects.

3D Modeling is just one of many examples as to how SLAY Architecture leverages technology to work intelligently and efficiently.

Testimonials

St. PJ’s Children’s Home is blessed to have Madeline serve on our Board of Governors. She brings down-to-earth, practical business wisdom into much of the work that we do; along with terrific guidance related to our campus and facility needs. Not only is she a valuable Board member, she is also a great friend and supporter. St. PJ’s has been able to achieve many of the advances we have because of her genuine leadership.
